My daughter and I both have peanut allergies and we often eat at McDonald's when traveling. She eats the happy meal with chicken and fries and chocolate milk. She's eaten this at McDonald's from New Mexico, California, Washington--they're all the same. But if you ask the workers if the food contains peanuts, they have no idea what you're talking about!

My 3 year old son has a peanut allergy and has reacted mildly to items processed in the same facility. So far, we have safely eaten Domino's Pizza, McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries, and Wendy's chicken nuggets and fries. We found out that Pizza Hut's pizza sauce was made in the same facility as peanuts so we have not eaten there.

Wow. I just came across your blog for the first time. I will visit it again. I have a 4 year old with peanut allergy. Just like you mention, he always insisted he did not like peanuts and that he was "allergic" before we knew he was. He hated the smell and said it made him sick. One day, when he was 3 and 1/2, we went to an ice cream shop and he had a reese's piece on his sundae and he had an immediate reaction. Spit it out, gagged, hives, etc. I think it is very exciting that Bo is in this study. I hope he continues to do well, and that the doctors will have something available for everyone in the next few years!
